Voices Alive Choir is a fun, inclusive choir for women. There are no auditions, no experience needed, no judgment, and no reading of music. We learn from recorded tracks. We sing a dynamic variety of music from many different genres including pop, folk, jazz, country and indie alternative, spanning many decades.
In recent months Voices Alive Choir has performed in well known venues in York Region such as the Stephen Leacock Theatre and 19 on the Park, and a variety of Retirement Residences. We have supported numerous charities, including the Women’s Centre of York Region, Sandgate Women’s Shelter and the Whitchurch Stouffville Food Bank.

Member guidelines:
We foster a safe, positive and kind environment for women to thrive in.
Membership includes weekly practices - two hours of fun, joyful singing and learning directed by Mary Bennet. Also included is full access to all of the songs on Choir Genius, our online choir management platform.
We are a scent-free choir.
Registration fee for choir membership is due in full at the beginning of each session (or upon registration of a new member). Sessions begin in September and February, but new members are welcome anytime.
Payment for the session is prorated on a weekly basis starting from the second month for a late start. This means that new members will only be charged for the remaining time in a session.
Payment arrangements may be available in cases of financial need or extended health related absences. There are no refunds for vacations.
Covid Protocol (subject to change in accordance with Public Health Regulations):
- Masks are optional.
- Please stay home if you have any signs of illness, or have had a recent Covid exposure.
